Divorce/child custody help (Legal Aid, Oregon)

I need to know where I can go to get legal advice in Salem Oregon. I have no job, no money and no one to help me money wise, but Legal Aid will not help me because my husband and I filed for bankruptcy. I contacted a lawyer who was quite helpful, but said he needed 2500.00 up front, and it could end up costing me 5000.00 to 7000.00 before it was over. I was told to file a restraining order, because of my husbands threats. The Family Law Facilitator who reviewed my forms, said the information I listed about my children was considered child abuse, and the courts were now involved. I said if I did nothing, and continued to let this happen I could get in trouble. But yet the Judge denied my restraining order, and urged me strongly to seek the advice of a lawyer. I called C.P.S. and told them what the faciliator had said, and they said the couldn't help me unless the kids were with their father. And then I would have to wait for him to do something than call them. Told me to contact lawyer. My husband has now stopped paying all bills, and will give me no money. I did file for child support yesterday. How can I help and protect my children and myself?

What abuse issues exist...child services could be forced to take a greater role...
