Confused divorce/retirment

does anyone out there have an answer for my question if so please let me know what you find out. my boyfriend will not marry me unless he knows he will have his retirment to live off of. he has paid alimoney for about20years and he wants to retire but we don't know if his exwife can get any of his retirment. please help.

Division of assets is handled at the time of divorce.
What does his divorce decree and settlement state?

it says she does not want any of his retirement but can she have this changed he has paid her alimoney for 19 yrs. thank you for any replies and help that everyone gives me.

If it says she can have it changed, then that answers your question, doesn't it?
Though I don't understand why such a clause would be in a divorce order. Check the circumstances under which she would be able to request a change to the orders at such a late date.
