Married in US and Kuwait does 1 divorce cover both marriages
My wife was married to a Kuwait man in Ohio in 1985. She then travelled to
Kuwait and married him again under Kuwait law for legal reasons in 1986. In 2004 she filed for divorce in Kuwait but only included the details of the second marriage. This divorce was made absolute. Does the marriage in Ohio still stand or does the divorce in Kuwait cover both marriage agreements. As my wife is not a US resident anymore how does she put it on record in the US that the marriage has been dissolved. We are currently migrating to Australia and don\'t want this to become an issue. |

The marriage should be dissolved at this point, but you may want to have a US judge ratify and confirm the divorce and issue a ruling.
Given that she technically skipped one marriage you don't want that issue arising in the future and immigration may want to see the marriages and divorces linked one to one. |
