Default Regarding the Form California Marital Settlement Agreement, With Minor Children

My husband and I are getting a divorce, but we want to remain good friends for the sake of our four children. Now my question is that we had filled out this form called the California Marital Settlement Agreement (Minor Children). On the bottom where we need to sign. There is also a part where my husband and I need to have 4 witness' to sign as well. 2 witness' for me and 2 witness' for my husband. Is this really required? Can my husband and I just sign them and just give the form that way or do we really need witness'?
