Confused Fathers year wish

I’ve been married for 21 years now and I’m getting divorced. I have two siblings age 16 and 20 years of age. I have a lien on my home for $140.000 and my mom holds it. The money will be mine after the divorce is final and I buy my wife out of the home. The problem is my wife keeps delaying things and she’s in no hurry to move because she’s living rent-free and I’m paying all the bills. She’s worked for 10 years now and our family has never seen a dime of that money in any way. Now my business is crumbling and I’m not sure I can continue to keep paying all the bills. I’m afraid they’re going to start shutting off services here at the home. I won’t be able to get a refinancing loan if they see my 2008 tax return because of business being slow this year. Right now the financing is in place and ready to go when needed due to my 2006 and 2007 tax return.
I really think she thinks if she can’t have the house she don’t want me to have it either and she’s been pushing me to sell it even though I told her I’m buying it and our son wants me to keep it. I want the house and I can afford to keep it but I have to buy her out, get divorced and get rid of her first. What can I do to get rid of this *****? She cheated on me and I just want to get rid of her and get on with my life. My kids are old enough now and I want to start rebuilding with them in my life. I’ve waited nine years for this opportunity (until my kids got older) to leave because that’s how long ago she had the affair. She’s dug in like an Alabama tic and my lawyers not doing a dam thing for me except charging me and doing a lot of useless red tape work with the courts and documents. He’s just stringing me along for more money building his the hourly rates. I’m running out of time and I’m running out of money. Can someone please give me some good advice or legal advice? Thank you.

Joe

Take control of you own case. Educate yourself on the laws and the facts, and then tell your attorney exactly what to do. Or dump him and do it yourself.
