Married to Two men???????

I need help in this matter, everytime I inquire about it I get the run around and I just need a simple answer so that I can resolve this.
In 1995 I married a man in California (confidential marriage). The same day I married him I found out he was already married and that he had filed for divorce but it wasnt final. We were married on 11/24/95 and his divorce was final 12/05/95. I didnt do anything about the situation because i just figured we were married and what people didnt know wouldnt hurt. Well about 2yrs later we seperated and I went on with my life never divorcing because I was told it wasnt valid no way. Well in 1999 I moved to Georgia met and married a man in 2000 we were together for 45 days and he disappeared I have not seen this man and have had no contact with this man for almost 8yrs. I dont have any way to contact him, its like he dropped off the face of the earth. Now I want to get married again someday and I have this delima. What do I do about the first marriage? and is the second marriage valid because I was married to the first one?How do I get out of this mess so that I can go on with my life!!!!
