My divorce was finalized in 2004. However, just today, I received a letter from a creditor asking me for payment as I am listed as an endorser/cosigner. Am I responsible for this even after the divorce?
I cosigned for the loan while we were married and at the time, the loan was under her maiden name yet this letter is showing the account under her new married name. Is there some legal terms in the divorce decree that would get me off the hook? |

Any resolution on your issue with the co-sign debt? I'm helping someone through a similar situation right now and she is worried about getting stuck with the payments if her ex-husband defaults on the loan she co-signed for.
