Deportation Process Question

I tried to post this before, and only about half of the text is showing. I'm trying it again...

I have a question about the deportation process. I know a person (let us call him Juan), who, due to some recent legal troubles is now sitting in Immigration because apparently he is not a U.S. Citizen. He has supposedly hired a lawyer, and he is asking his friends to contact his lawyer for information so that we can send a letter (to who?) vouching that Juan is a good citizen and should not be deported. He is warning people that his lawyer is uncooperative and will verbally abuse anybody that calls on behalf of Juan. I was asked to contact this attorney for the reason stated above and I am concerned because the whole thing sounds extremely suspicious. For example:

- Juan was supposedly brought over illegally from Mexico when he was four (he's 34 now). However, he has been educated and employed here without his U.S. citizenship status ever being questioned. He has also had a driver
