Hi. I have warrants issued in California. When I return to USA, am I going to be arrested at a airport? I also want to serve my time and I should do the right thing. Thank you.

I wish to inform you that if a warrant has been issued to you then you can be arrested any time you enter in USA. Warrant issued in one state can be executed in other states and therefore you can be arrested in any state in USA. Therefore when you enter in USA you can be arrested if law enforcement agencies come to know about warrant. Alternatively you can have the warrant cancelled through court order. Your lawyer can go to court for cancelling warrant so that you are not arrested.

Quote:
The nature of the warrants and where you land makes a difference. Not all warrants are issued nationwide but may be only in the state system. And it depends upon where you land, too. If they do not appear on the nationwide network or were turned in to Homeland Security, then you would not be in great danger of being arrested. Homeland Security has not been forthcoming with the public about the extent of their "no fly" list and sources of information they gather, so it is a tossup as to whether they would have the warrant information. Since you say you are willing to serve your time, then you should return and pay your dues. |
