Lightbulb Deported from USA reason "overstay more than 180 days in calendar year"

I was refused entry into the USA when travelling there with my American girlfriend in 2009. I appealed the ban at the US Embassy in London, UK and applied for a B1/B2 10yr visa, which I was also denied on the grounds that "I don't own property in the UK or Mexico(where I currently reside) and therefore I may try to stay in the US again for longer, which doesn't make sense anyway as my girlfriend also lives in Mexico. Even though I am employed and have worked for the same UK based company for over 7.5yrs-so I have zero reason to wish to reside/stay in the USA.

I can't even get a flight that connects in the US so when I fly home to the UK or go on holiday to Europe/Asia I have to pay 3 times the amount for a flight that doesn't connect in the USA.

I believe I can appeal again and apply for a B1/B2 10yr visa at the US embassy in Mexico City? Last time I was mis-informed and advised I had to apply for the B1/B2 visa in London, UK which again cost me about 5k whole trip!

Your advice would be greatly appreciated.

Many Thanks

Default re: Deported from USA reason "overstay more than 180 days in calendar year"

additional info.....my only mistake was not realising the 180 day stay on a Visa Waiver entry into the US was counted as a 'Calender year'. I was visiting my american girlfriend there and would stay a couple of months then go back to the UK etc and then re-visit her later. I did this a few times a year.
