My boyfriend( and future husband) was born in dominican republic, his mother married and moved to puerto rico for citizenship, therefore he moved to puerto rico when he was very young( legally) and is a resident of puerto rico i guess. He now lives here in the US. However a few years ago, he was arrested and went to jail for drug related issues. he went back to puerto rico for a year or so to visit family, came back and now lives in the US. He has a social security card, passport, and visa that he needs to renew in 2014. However.. im curious to know, if marriage will be alright, if he could face any deportation stuff if we got married before 2014, would he be able to travel outside the us? anything that I am unaware of that could go on for us to get married.. im a little confused on how residents of puerto rico are handled( maybe not differently?) any help would be wonderful..
