Boyfriend on INS hold...a few questions

My boyfriend who is here illegally (expired visa) recently was pulled over on a routine traffic stop. He had been pulled over a few times before and was afraid he would be deported this time. So, he gave a fake name. He later decided that was not a good idea and gave the correct name. He was arrested for criminal impersonation and got an INS detainer hold placed on him. Long story short his criminal impersonation charges were dropped and was only charged with two counts for driving without a valid license. This was last thursday that his trial ended. He has been in prison for a month now. Today as of 11am ICE has not picked him up. It has been 72 hours. My question is, what can I do to get him out of the prison now that his trial is over and ICE failed to pick him up? Or does the 72 hours begin after I pay his court fees and the money for his driving without a license? Please Help!

Call whatever lawyer was involved (even if it was a public defender) and ask to verify what is the status and expected schedule. You have to be persistent. You have to know what is filed etc.

If you cannot verify that ask another lawyer to do so or ask world law's team. They may intervene as well.
