Question is it a felony

I was caught bring my mexcian boyfriend over the mexico boarder10 years ago, he did not have a visa or a green card. They relased me but detained him, impounded my rental and told me I now had a felony on my record. is this true?

Call the DA that was involved and ask; you have to be convicted or default normally; you don't just get a record.
