Default Completely lost, don't have a clue where to go?

Hi I am Canadian that arrived in Maui on a 1yr student visa July 2006. June 2007 a desperate moment made me make a very stupid mistake. I was working for cash very PT, my boss was out of the country & his ex wife was not able to meet me so I forged my paycheck. My employer did not proceed to press charges but the state of Hawaii did and took over.

I have no CDN criminal record, not even a speeding ticket.
October 2007 I entered a plea of No Contest, the motion for deferred acceptance plea was granted and I was given 5yrs probation.

This is where I need help!! My student visa expired June 2006 because I was never able to return to Canada. I have to complete 5yrs probation & can not leave the island of Maui unless I have permission from my PO. Without a VISA Im not legally allowed to work in the US and only way for me to try & apply for one would involve me going back to Canada. I have a very strong feeling that once I cross back over immigration won't allow me back anytime soon. My PO will only grant me permission if I can confirm immigration will allow me back because if they don't I will end up violating my probation which will result in a warrant for my arrest.... no thanks!

I don't know what to do?? Even though required, completing the 5yrs is very important to me because I will then have no criminal record in the US.

If Im required to stay should I not have been given a temp work permit??

What can I do about immigration? I don't want to get in trouble with them but can't seem to find out who to contact.

Almost forgot my PO had to send my files to US Immigration & Homeland Security. He was supposed to do it before I went on probation but sent them after. He has no idea what they do with them & if I should expect to hear from them.

Any advice would be appreciated. I got myself in this mess & am sorry, I think I was punished yesturday when I missed my sisters wedding.

...others will likely post here too but frankly I would suggest you hire immigration counsel to help resolve this and don't attempt to handle this alone; you can get caught up in very technical rules here in this situation and you are on shaky ground to start now.

Confused Re: Completely lost, don't have a clue where to go?

I have read someones ordeal here that her husband in 1991 had a conviction of misdemeanor of domestic assault back in 1991 with his old girlfriend and no other records and then he applied for citizenship and he was taken from USCIS in 2005 recently got married with her and has kids...then was deported, therefore...even a one conviction could lead to deportation and not even a felony? Is this possible? If that's the case i should informed my friend whom was here since 12 years old arrived in 1979 (he's now 43) with a Permanent Resident Card (Form I-551, no expiration) and went partial gradeschool and high school, went to college and a baby paid child support and done paying with it 4 years ago, had a 2 misdemeanor same ordeal domestic from two seperate girlfriends one was from 1989 (mother of the baby) and other 1992....... and has a DUI in 1997 misdemeanor and 2002 gross misdemeanor and no other...but, sounds not good at all with his (although he paid fines and other dues that are met such anger class, mad classes and whatever needed to abide by the law)....he thought of applying for citizenship and/but had other consultations is best not to travel out of the country and not to file citizenship for now until further instructed!

If these green card comes to the point of "no-expiration greencard would be invalid" and mandatory for renewal.....is there such questions or when applying for new p.r. cards have questions regarding about his past?
