Deported for minor drug offenses

Can a resident alien get deported for a small criminal drug offense?

If it is a felony, YES! The laws clearly state that if you are not a citizen when the crime was committed you can be deported. They are clamping down more so on this law after 911. That doesn't mean it is automatic but it is very possible and I recommend you look into getting a lawyer if it does come to be.

my husband did 7 month for transporting eligal alliens from utah to virginia.
he was deported back to his country. how long do we have to wait to re-apply to be apply to enter the USA ? he does not have any type of crimenal
record(s) beside the one that he did time for transporting. if he can not come back is there away that we can claim his social security benefits,please keep in mind that he live legally in the USA for 22 yrs.
