Default same thing happened to me

Mel Harris froze my accounts at all of my banks. I was never served any papers...infact, I do not even live in NY anymore. My outstanding balance is apparently $2300...(I have no idea what from) however, he has placed a hold on all of my accounts, totaling over $10,000. (I don't have that money in my accounts, but I am now negative $2300 in every account) two of which are at the SAME BANK. Doesn't seem legal that he is able to hold more than I owe? I tried for two months to get in contact with his office and got no answer. I finally contacted an attorney and am working with him. The only money I had which was $470 was from unemployment benefits, they took. When I called in today, I finally reached a woman who was quite the ____! I politely told her that I had recieved a letter yesterday stating that my unemployment was not able to be garnished and she replied, "Well MA'AM...we DON'T KNOW you're on unemployment." I said, "Well, what can I do to provide you with proof." She said, "Well FIRST of ALL, I need some information....YOU SHOULD HAVE CALLED SOONER." I told her that I have been calling for the past two months and reached NO ONE. She told me I should have left a call back number- I told her that I wasn't given that option. She finally said, "Oh, well we don't have your new address, so all the mail is getting sent back here." I waited for a moment and said, "Are you ready for my address?" She SIGHED and got an attitude and replied, "MS. _____ WHAT IS YOUR ADDRESS???" Needless to say, I refuse to deal with people like this. I know that most debt collectors are this way, however, I won't be spoken to like that. I hung up on her. The next person that will contact them on my behalf is my attorney. I suggest you all do the same!!
