I have a credit car that I hve defered for about a year because I could not afford to pay it. I owe $3000. I have been unemployed for almost two months now. The creditor called me a month ago and told me that I needed to put a down payment on it to start paying it off, $1000 which I don't have. I paid $100 and they said that I would have to come up with something else for this month. They are now calling me again for a down payment, which I don't have because I am still trying to find a job. I told them I would make another payment of $100, but they insist they require the full downpayment this time. They said if I don't pay it, they will come after my car which is financed. My mother is the primary and I am the secondary on it. If I am making good faith payments until I get a job, can they seize my car? What are my options?
