Confused Banking Question.

We withdrew 1200.00 from our bank account.
The bank posted it as a deposit.
We had no idea they had done this.
We seen a deposit but we assumed it was for back child support.
Anyway, the bank let it go for 2 weeks.
We had paid off bills etc.
Now, They removed 2400.00
1200. they deposited and the original 1200.
Plus have charged us 7 overdraft fees and are now charging us an 8$ a day fee for continuous overdraft.
Now, my questions is:
Should they be allowed to charge all the fees? It was their mess up not ours.
If we overdraw they charge us and we pay.
Shouldn't they fix this?
Now our account is like 1200. + in the negative.
