Please help me, I'm confused!!!!
I am being sued for breach of contract by a collection company who bought an old debt from an old credit card I had. I have asked them repeatedly to supply me with information about the alleged debt- what was purchased, and when and where it was purchased and they have refused to do so. They continue to harass me and now I am being sued. The trial is set to take place 9/12/08 but I have recently received a letter stating that I am in default (and could lose my house) because I have failed to enter written appearance personally or by an attorney and file in writing with the court my defenses or objections to the claims set forth against me. What does that mean? Have I lost the case? I thought the case was to take place in September?
