Medical bills that are disputed - ER in Pennsylvania

I have medical bills from a visit to the ER in Pennsylvania back in July. I disputed the charges because the doctor said I had a \"Back muscle strained\" but the nurse told me to get home and get checked out soon. When I got home in Tennessee 1 day later I had kidney stones and appendicitis. So I have talked to the Radiologly group, the hospital and the doctors billing company to dispute but now 4 months later the doctors billing company has turned me over to collections. I tried to call the collection agency to explain but the people there are not very nice people and told me if I didn\'t pay It would be reported on my credit. So what can I do if they report me? And is there any reason why I did not recieve any notice from the medical provider on this bill after the first one that I disputed?

Based on what you say here, you could file suit against them (or at least threaten to do so) in small claims court or in regular court; filing in small claims court is easier and requires no attorney...you could try to collect all of the costs and damages that you suffered due to their behavior
