1 am 25 days late on a car payment. The creditor called a reference on our application and asked them to call us and have us return the creditor's call. I thought that as long as you were within 30 days, technically you weren't late - it won't be reported to a collection agency. At any rate, it was very embarrassing. I will admit that I haven't returned their calls. Can they legally contact a reference in the instance of a minor late payment?

Nott really, any late payment is a problem.
But they normally don't take credit agency action before 30 days is up. They can however if they wish. |
