Country: Canada
Province: Ontario My partner and I have lived together for a little over a year, are not married, and have a 10 month old child. I owned the house for six years before he moved in. Since moving in, he pays the bills and I continue to pay the mortgage. (We split child-related and other expenses, but not necessarily equally.) I know he has outstanding student loans, and I have recently discovered that he has at least 2 \'maxed out\' credit cards, for $13,000 and $21,000. I have not yet asked him about these, and there may be more. I have no debts other than my mortgage. Am I in danger of being held responsible for any of his debts? Thank you, Caroline |
