Collection problem
My husband just received a summons to appear in court over a credit card collection issue. We paid off the credit card last year through another collection agency and have the letter stating the arbitration had been cancelled and the debt resolved, now we get this summons. I'm at wits end with these people, what can we do?

Based on what you say here, you could file a counter-claim against them (or at least threaten to do so) --you could try to collect all of the costs and damages that you suffered due to their behavior...

You're not the first one to suggest that. But I got in touch with the arbitration manager at the agency we paid off and he is handling it personally for us. Thanks for the advice tho.

make sure you show up at any scheduled court date unless you have written notice you need not do so
