Default What information do I give

I have a debt collector calling me several times a day and now at work, They only identify themselves by there name and number. Not who they are from. On one occasion, they did in a supposedly automated message to my voice mail as Nation wide credit. But all other times they do not state this.

I am reading conflicting things about what to do. Should I call them to tell them to stop calling me? One web site said I should not avoid them, but in a thread on this site, you said;

"NEVER acknowledge to any collection agency if a debt is actually yours and NEVER speak with a collection agency on the phone. Get all communication in writing."

Which should I do? I don't have a confirmed address to send them a letter to stop calling me at work and Nation wide is every where. How can I get them to stop calling me at work, and should I call them?

Do you have caller I.D? You can input the phone number into any nationwide reverse lookup search.

You are also under no obligation to take their phone calls. Calling at work is considered harassment.

Verbally telling them to stop calling you won't stop the phone calls. They must receive written communication that all attempts at verbal communication MUST cease.

Is the item on your credit report? That is another good source of information on how to contact them in writing.

Many people simply change their phone number. That may not be a viable option for you. But it's something to consider.

Here is one address and phone number I found for Nationwide Credit Corporation: 5503 Cherokee Ave • Suite 100 • Alexandria • Virginia • 22312 • 703-642-7500

Check all of these numbers listed below and compare them to the number they are calling from.
