Default What Happens Next

Hi, I just recieved the first phone call from a collection agency, but, I have recieved letters on and off for a year. The credit card debts are from 1994 and older, and have been sold to these agencies NCO collections and to RJM collections. I am on social security with no other source of income other than my monthly s.s. check.
They have never called me before because I live with someone in their apartment and the phone is not in my name.
I told them do not call me again at this number and they said they would put me on a list. My ex husband caused these debts when we were married but the cards were in my name only.
Since I cannot pay anything at all what will happen? I cannot afford an attorney and I cannot afford the cost of bankruptcy.
I have no bank accounts, no savings, no furniture only an old car in bad shape 1992 car. I live month to month on my check

You may demand written validation of the debt to prove what if anything is actually owed. Notwithstanding what they say, these kinds of creditors often will not really sue so you could just wait to see what if any action they take...and you could argue they misled you, the product or service was originally not what you expected, etc. You could also threaten bankruptcy if they actually do try to sue... Unhappy Re: What Happens Next

Well, the debts are real, as my ex husand ran them up with the expectation of doing just taht and then leaving me holding the debt. He was careful never to put his signature on any of the credit cards, only mine.
He filled the applications out stating I worked and earned so much and all and then just had me sign my signiture on the bottom or he threaned to leave me homeless, then he threatened me that I did something illigal by stating I had a job and earned money I did not make.
Well, after he ran them up to the limit he left me, unable to work, as I am ill. Someone took me in and gave me a home, and now I am getting a monthly social security check, and free medical.
At the divorce the judge did not believe me and told me go get a job and pay your own bills. I had never ever worked, was always a housewife, ill and no job experience.
So i cant state they are not my bills, or I do not owe them, as I owe the entire amount, as he never paid any, just ran them up.
Help

It would be kind of hard for them to sue you and collect no?
