Hi, I live in the EU because I moved here with my husband, he is a citizen here. BUT i have a huge student loan in New Zealand which I don't know how to solve because I don't have a job at the moment and cannot earn enough to pay it. The student loan is almost 40k NZD. I live in a rented apartment. I basically have no money, but I wish to have savings for at least an emergency fund.
What should I do? If I have money in a bankaccount in the EU would they freeze that? I don't know how I could pay the 40 k back, the bank account i have in NZ is in overdraft for another 1k, and my credit card for another 700, I don't know what to do anymore. They haven't sent any debt collectors yet because this is the first time I have been asked for a compulsory payment. Thanks Kitty |
