Freelance Work
I recently took a job to design a website for a small starter company. Upon accepting the job I was paid a deposit of 1000.00.
As this job was freelance my priorities are with the company i work with it. So since taking on the job, I've done numerous hours on the website (approx. 8hrs or more) but when work starting piling up at the office I let the freelance employer know that I will not be able to continue working on their project. This morning, I received an email from them, stating they would like to have the deposit refunded to them within 24hrs. I have signed no contract and I believe I've done enough work to fully pay for the deposit (My current rate is 200.00 per hour). Any advice? |

If you decided to quit the project after you has implied you would do it all, they could seek damages. You did make an agreement it would seem. A refund would be wise.
