debt collector call at 1 am
Can a debt collector call me at 1 am, they did this twice?
Do I have to object in writing first? |

No, they definitely can NOT call you at 1am. Under the Fair Credit Collection Act, they cannot call after 9pm. I'm not sure about it having to be in writing, but if they call again let them know that you are aware of the Fair Credit Collection Act and that they are breaking the law by calling you so late. If they call again, contact an attorney, you can sue for up to $1,000 if they continue to do it.
