Unhappy garnishment

Help! The garnishment being taken from my paycheck is leaving me without enough money to pay just my bare essentials, rent, car, etc.... Is there anythng I can do to stop the garnishment?

Default Re: garnishment

bankruptcy will end it and eliminate the debt---otherwise your options are limited now since a judgment appears to have been obtained.

You can go online for your state/county and find the paper work to file for a motion for installment payments. They are almost always grantid and will allow you to pay a smaller amount each month to the creditor. However, if you fall behind, the creditor will file for reinstatement of the orignal garnishment.
