Bank Account Garnishment

Yesterday I found out that a Credit card that I have not been able to pay has garnished my bank account.I need your help please. I am the head of the household and I have been for the past 1 1/2 years. I have 2007 taxes to prove that I was the only one with an income. my husband was discharged from the Navy back in 2006. ALso can they only garnished the amount reflected in my account the date the garnishment was received by the bank? Can I file a petition to the court stating that I am the Head of the household and that the moneys should be released? what is my best option? Shoul I negotiate a payment plan with the creditor will they release the moneis after I do that? What should I do I am desperate I have 2 kids and no moneyThanks

Stop any payments to that account and that bank.
