I took out a payday loan some months ago. The asked for voided check, my bank account is officially closed because of a negative balance. The collector tells me that I wrote a bad check and I need to seek legal advice. Another person from this same company told me they will garnish my wages and will cause me embarrassment at my job. I offered to make 2 payments to pay off the amount and they will not take less that the entire amount. They have given me till noon today or further legal action will be taken. The only problem is that they will not tell me what kind of legal action will be taken. I'm wondering if they're just trying to intimidate me.

They have to sue you and get a judgment to garnish. They are not supposed to take post dated checks and any voided check cannot be used.
