Default over due CC debt

I have 3 credit cards which combined have an outstanding balance of about $22,000. I have not been able to make any payments on them in a little over a year now and needless to say, I am getting numerous calls from collectors every day about it which I am avoiding since I just don't have the money to pay them and I don't know what to tell them.
What I'm really concernd about and what I want to know is: Can they eventually put a lien on my residence if I can't come up with the money to pay them soon? If so.., what will happen if they do put a lien on my residence? Is there any way out of this situation that I'm in?

Default Re: over due CC debt

They have to sue you and in some states could place a lien eventually yes...

See just fyi http://www.worldlawdirect.com/article/935 -- Collecting on a court judgment.
