can court take your disabilty check to pay debt ?
a friend has gotten a court paper that said he was sued (he never knew) for a credit card...debt of 3200.00 ....his has no income other than his disability check ..he is on my bank account though...can they go after my account which have nothing to do with him ??? need answer ASAP...if i take him off then they cant bother mine ???

They can try to seize his bank account or any account with his name on it.
Then you would have to argue in court about if the proceeds are disability etc.,--best to not have his name on the account. See http://www.worldlawdirect.com/article/935 -- Collecting on a court judgment. |
