Default Credit Bureau Reporting

We are a small corporation and have a few clients that owe us past due balances. How can I report them to the credit bureaus, and can I legally do this?

Default Negative Credit Bureau Reporting

We have been falling behind on our payments lately to companies. We have been reported to the credit bureau as being 30 and 60 days past due. My husband seems to think that it is not a big deal. I told him that it will stay on our record for 7 years. He is telling me that we can easily get things taken off of our credit. Is this true?

As long as you made or admitted payment, any admittance or any payment toward the debt, in most states you are liable for that debt and it will likely take time to get it removed (generally 7 years depending on if it goes to collection). I suggest trying to keep up.

To this poster, why don't you try doing the legitimate thing and taking your debtors to small claims court first, and allow them to defend themselves before trying to destroy their credit for years? Wouldn't that be the ethical and professional thing to do?
