Ethex Morphine 2008 Recalls

Ethex has issued a recall of certain medications during 2008. Those medications include:

• Propafenone HCl Tablets - 150 mg, 225 mg, and 300 mg
• Isosorbide Mononitrate Extended Release Tablets – 30 mg and 60 mg
• Morphine Sulfate Extended Release Tablets - 15 mg
• Morphine Sulfate Immediate Release Tablets - 15 mg and 30 mg
• Dextroamphetamine Sulfate Tablets - 10 mg

There was reason to believe that some of these drug tablets might be oversized which could result in a potential overdose for a patient. Patients were advised to stop using medications from the affected batches and pharmacists were asked to return all medications from the affected batches. Patients were also advised to seek immediate medical attention if they experienced adverse reactions from the medications.

While Ethex strives to make drugs easy for patients to use, the potential for oversized drugs would make it difficult for a patient to take the correct dosage and could result in injury to the patient.
