Angry Malicious Damage / Vandalism

My fathers Club employed a Gent and his wife to run the bar / running of the
club (ex service mens club). They were on a three month trial and nearing
the end of the 3 month trial it was decided amongst comittee members that
they were not suitable or forfilling their duties so would not be taken on
on a full contract and the employment would cease at the end of three
months. With the employment came a flat above the club all part of the
package. Yesterday morning they left and yesterday evening we entered the
flat to a foul smell. Upon further investigation we found they had placed
two fish behind 2 hot water tanks along with loose rotting food. along with
the flat left ina disgusting state. Beore they moved into the flat £7000
was spent updating the kitchen, bathroom and new carpets. The carpets were
covered in dog hair and generally marked, the laminate floor all broken and
chipped and the bathroom generally left dirty. Also upon further inspection
I noticed they had purposely undone the waste water pipe below the kitchen
sink i presume to cause a flood. We also found they had purposely put salmon
in the disabled toilet bin and left it to feister and rot. What can we do
as it sickens me that they should be allowed to get away with this sort of
behaviour. Can they be charge with anything or would the police be able to
do anything, we took photos of the flat including the fish and rotting food
behind the tanks.

We have also found fish wedging into the cooker.

Based on what you say here, you could file suit against them (or at least threaten to do so) in small claims court or in regular court; filing in small claims court is easier and requires no lawyer ...you could try to collect all of the costs and damages that you suffered due to their behaviour...
