Default embezzlement

I live in California and I have a gambling problem. I am attending my first GA meeting this evening. Last week I was fired from my job
for writing checks, total amount is approximately
$15,000. I need to repay them
and I have no money or assets available. I am a
single Mother and I am very
scared I will soon be arrested for embezzlement.
What is the term for my
crime and can you tell what I should do next?
