I live in a residential area and the person next door works at a paint and body shop and has a commercial painting system setup in his garage except for the filtering part. He paints cars, trucks, parts for vehicles and you name it. The overspray blows right into my area and the sticky substance gets on skin and the odor is horrible. I haven't seen overspray on anytjhing yet.
This is been going on for several years now . About 7 I'd say and it's way out of control. He told the state that it's his hobby which is just a lie. He does it on the side for evtra money. I've had everybody I can get to come out here including the state air quality people and local authorities and they have done nothing. I have pictures of the inside of the garage that clearly shows this is not a nickel and dime setup. He hauls cars in and out at night and it's impossible to get pictures with that type of cover. It's very dark with no street lights. What can be done about this legally and what do I have to prove? It seems to me like just showing the painting apparatus and that it is a professional setup would be incriminating. I am relying on a civil principle that more than like he is painting than isn't by a preponderence of the evidence. I need some help before I just jump into this without being prepared. A way to approach the problem that would be the best chance of prevailing. |

Call city officials and have them review the sprayed paint and his activities--they will shut him down.
