I left my car in Skowhegan,Maine with a Mass registration that has expired. It is on my house lot that I just rented to a tennant.I left him the key so he could move it from one end of the lot to another for the snow plow. The car still has Mass plates on it.I am currently in Rhode Island and have been for a month and a half.He did ask me if he could use the car once and I told him no,that it was not registered or insured. He drove my car, unauthorized and got it stuck in the snow. The Fairfield, Maine police had it towed. He does not want me to say he took it unauthorized. He claims he has made arrangements to have the car brought back to my lot.My question is am I responsible if I don't disclose that he took the car without my permission?Thank you,Robert.

Somebody will have to pay yes.
But you don't have to turn him in--it is up to you. But if he is not responsible then you will be if any fines, tickets, costs are due. |
