Underage Drinking + Jobs

I go to school at the University of IL. In May of 07 I got an underage drinking ticket. It was issued as a citation. I paid the $290 fine and that was it. What I'm worried about it is the future when I start looking for a job or apply to graduate school. Am I required to say "yes" if they ask if I was arrested? I know for a job application I don't have to mark "convicted of a felony," but I am not sure if a background check would reveal this offense. Any help would be appreciated.

Ask the prosecutor if it was civil or criminal.

If criminal, try to get it expunged.

See getting charged with DWI/DUI is termed as criminal offense. When applying for jobs don't volunteer information on your own but nonetheless don't hide the facts when it comes to background search. Lot of companies do criminal background check while hiring.
