In June of 2007, I was caught walking out of a department store(value of items was about $220 - misdemeanor). I paid the restitution and with the Court papers I received, I chose to accept the community service and the charge has been dismissed.
Recently, I made VERY STUPID mistake of doing the same foolish act in a different department store. The value was $60 - another misdemeanor. There was no arrest. But I did sign the paper of acknowledgment of what occurred and that I will not enter the premises within two years. Because I idiotically made this mistake, I know understand that I will receive paperwork from the municipal court and that a court date will be mandatory without the option of community service since last night was a second offense. I was recently diagnosed with depression and bi-polar disorder. I was prescribed two different medications for each, but stopped taking the medication that treats the bi-polar disease, due to frustrating side effects. I am now taking all my medications again, starting today. I should not have stopped. Any advice or what you may think could happen regarding the punishment I most likely will receive or will happen, I would greatly appreciate. I live in Washington state. Thank you for your time. |

You really do need a lawyer now to help negotiate that down for you. Don't try to do that yourself.
Some deal likely can still be worked out. |
