A person I know was sending out magazine subscription request cards using my and my husbands name and address, without our knowledge. As well as
requesting catalogs. The magazine companies sold our names and addresses to other magazine, catalog and credit card companies. With the credit card companies, they ran our credit history so they could know what type of credit to offer to us, therefore, causing an us to have a bad credit rating due to excessive history injuries. We contacted the original magazine companies that received the request cards that were mailed in, and we then sent them off to a document/handwriting expert, who in fact verified who we thought it was doing this.We have turned this over to the state attorney and they feel they need "corpus delecti", and not really sure what to charge the person with. They have expert testimony (handwriting expert) So I am confused on that. I have looked through the Florida Statutes and found "fraudulent practices" to be the best that would describe what this person did. My question is: what charges do you think should be pressed against this person? Is more need to pursue charges other than expert testimony? |
