arressted and given court date but no charges have been filed!!!!
i have posted here once before in regards to my plight with being charged with two misdemeanors but when i went to my scheduled court date given to me they told me that i did not have court today and that no charges have been filed as of yet by the district attorney and that they would send me a letter in the mail but i live in canada and it has been over a month since the incident am i to believe that if there are no charges as of yet there most likely will not be any filed at all??? or are they just taking their sweet time ??
should i persue the issue with the D/A or should i let sleeping dogs lay??? please someone can i thank god and go on with my life or should i expect the worst??? |

Normally they will act with an obstruction charge pending.
You could call the DA and ask what is the situation. Or just wait. I would want to know and would call if I were in that situation. |

there is nothing pending ,there has been no formal charges filed or layed even so i am not sure that the officers even finished the paper work or if they dropped the whole thing or what maybe the D/A does not see merrit in furthering the case?? and who would i phone in regards to the case if they do not have the info they will not be able to tell me anything do i call the police station or the D/A and if i do so will i not be opening a can of worms on myself as if they have all the information and are not acting on it should i bring it to thier attention so they do act on it or shoudl i wait to see what happens??? i know there are no statute of limitations on cases like these but surely if they have not acted in two months which is ample time to do so as i am from another country i am sure they would want to get it over with or resolved as soon as humanly possible ?? and on my arrest sheet it says probable cause does this mean anything or is that just commonplace in most arrests?? as i did neither crime and the officer's know that !!

Not sure what State your in, but In Florida, they have 175 days to charge you. I would call the State Atty. office.
