background check

I tried to get a job and my background is flagging red by
choice point (background reporting agency), because I had a felony that was
dropped to a misdemeanor but never changed. So I called choice point and
disputed it and they changed it but it still has me red flagged and they
can't tell me why. So I was thinks of trying to get it expunged but I heard
CO doesn't allow you to do that they only allow you to set it aside.???
