help being accused oh theft
i clean a house for a couple that is accusing me of taking some jeweley. i have been questioned and named a suspect. They want me to take a polygraph test. I am being told not to by very educated people. i dont know what to do.

What educated people (who) is telling you not to take one? Police use these all the time. And, while they can't be admitted as evidence in a court, they will exonerate you if you pass it. I wouldn't have a problem with taking one as long as it was being given by a trained professional and I knew I was innocent.

Hire a lawyer and do not cooperate except as he tells you. That is the standard advice.
