Confused Physically Assaulted by my boss

Criminal investigation...how is this supoosed to go?

I worked with my most recent company for over a year and a half.
My position I held at the company was assistant store manager.
Aug. 6th my boss trapped me in the office and would not let me out, and would not let me leave. I had done nothing wrong. I told her to let me leave and she still would not, blocking the doorway with her body and arms held up to the door frame. I tried to make one step forward to see if she would move, and then she grabbed my wrist in a hard fashion and squeezed tightly.
I did a self-defense move and broke free from her grip , although she tightened her grip and her hand slid all of the way up my arm as I pulled my own arm out of her grip. I also was yelling for her to quit grabbing me and to get off of me. I broke her grasp completely, and yelled, Wake up, I am finito!"
Then I gathered my things and left out of the door, patting my crew on their backs as I walked out, saying goodbye.
What case or cases do I have here please?
Thank you,
-Cincinnatian

I mean that I already filed the police report about the assault with the police.
So, how is this supposed to go, I do not feel like the cops are doing their jobs on this one. I feel this way b/c it has been two weeks since I was assaulted, and I have heard nothing. I have called the police station several times asking and requesting an update. I am still not satisfied about knowing where the case stands right now etc.... So how is this supposed to go, like what is normal procedure for the police? Are they not supposed to respond to this in a timely fashion or what? Please advise.
thank you very much for any advice ye could give.
Warm regards,
-Cincinnatian
