Generally you cannot drop the criminal charges pressed against your bf. Once the police get involved, it is out of the victim’s hands. Once a person is charged with criminal charges, it is very difficult to get the charges dropped, no matter how hard the victim may fight for it. The victim can approach the prosecutor’s office and try to get the charges dropped, but the decision belongs to the prosecutor, not the victim. A criminal action involves a crime against the state, not against a particular victim. But if you could convince the prosecutor that you gave such a false allegation due to sudden provocation, he may drop the charges against your bf. It is also advised that you may contact with a Criminal Attorney who can give a proper guidance in this regards. Good luck.

Prosecution is something not to be taken lightly. A person's whole life can be ruined in a matter of seconds as the consequences can be lifelong condemnation. Understand that I'm responding ONLY because you're trying to help him right a wrong. |
