Question scared

My exhusband threatened to kill me with a gun (which I know he does own) in detail ('I will put the gun between your eyes and kill you') in front of my kids ages 15 and 7. I called the police -911- and reported this to the screams of my 7 yr old son saying 'he's gone to get the gun, and kill you mom'. I drove to near parking lot, while on the phone to 911. The police came and after explaining what had happened, they informed me that ANYONE can look at you and threaten in detail any way of killing they want to. Is this true? The children and I have been crying on and off all day. They want to know why dad can do this. Please help.

That is not true. Call the chief of the dept to explain what happened, and call the Disrtict Attorney's office as well. Any threat like that is a crime.

Unhappy Re: scared

I spoke with the Macomb County Sheriff Department, who then said yes it is wrong to threaten like that, that I have to speak with the WARREN MICHIGAN police dept shift commander. The shift commander said "well why don't you just stay away from him, then everyone's happy-no laws broken". HELP HELP HELP I have to take my children every other weekend to him, and believe me-he knows where I live, if he's crazy enough to do this, we are scared, is there anything we can do?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? please

You may go to family court on an emergency basis and the judge may very well cancel the visits until he gets to the bottom of this.
