can you explain nexus and the difference between a weapon manufactured outside the state of possession and assembled in the state of possession and would I have a ground to stand on to appeal an enhancement charge of possession of a weapon by a state felon (because of charges of driving offenses) if indeed the gun was actually assembled in the state of maine. This gun was not used in the commission of a crime only in the possession of a felon and also with drug charges. The gun was found in the same room as the paraphanelia of drugs, not actually drugs. And how do I go about dimssing a federal court appointed attorney who had not reasearched this and let my son plea and give up his rights to appeal this. Help I have exhausted all the internet resources I can find. also are there any attorney who would take a pro-bone case. My son had already pleaded guilty to the drug charges along with a plea bargain and after the plea the prosector decided not to accept the plea bargain and he is getting the full 78 months sentence plus they are giving him the enhancement charge on the weapon due to interstate commerce. I don't know where else to turn. This is a federal charge in the state of maine. Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you, Jay |

The federal public defenders are often quite good. What was the problem you had?
