Default A vandalism question: What can I do to protect myself if he does bring charges?

First of all, I'd like to thank you for giving your time to read and respond to my situation. Here's how it looks so far. I had some friends up at my apartment for the weekend. While me and my two other friends were out at a party, someone vandalized my roommates laptops and bed. They valued the damaged property at around $4500. He filed a police report and apparently my name was the only name he could cite in his report. He said he's sorry if I get charged w/ this because I was the only name on there. I have never shown any disrespect to my roommates property before, and they would admit to that. How can I be charged with a crime I didn't commit, especially with no evidence that would possibly suggest I committed it? Also, what can I do to protect myself if he does bring civil or criminal action?

You will not be charged with a crime if no evidence exists but you likely would lose in small claims court as you let the people into the home and your roommate presumably did not agree with that.
